A bizarre AI-generated video featuring former US President Donald Trump seemingly sucking on billionaire Elon Musk’s toes was briefly displayed inside the headquarters of the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), triggering an internal investigation.
The controversial clip, reportedly mocking Trump’s close ties with Musk—who was recently appointed to lead the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE)—included an overlaid message reading, “Long Live the Real King.” This phrase appeared to reference Trump’s celebratory post after his administration blocked New York City’s congestion pricing plan.
According to The New York Times, the video was shown on department screens on Monday, prompting outrage from HUD officials. A department spokesperson condemned the incident on social media, calling it an “abuse of taxpayer resources,” and vowed to identify and fire those responsible.
The video surfaced on the same day federal workers faced a deadline imposed by Musk to justify their job roles via email. However, confusion reigned as multiple federal agencies, including those run by Trump allies, advised employees to disregard the directive.
Musk later posted on X (formerly Twitter), giving workers “another chance” to prove their value or risk termination.
The viral clip has drawn mixed reactions, with the Democrat-led House Committee on Financial Services cheekily commenting on X: “Not all heroes wear capes.”
