Naira Marley, Sam Larry Cleared: Court Rules They Had No Role in Mohbad’s Death

After months of controversy and speculation, a Magistrate Court in Yaba, Lagos, has ruled that popular musician Naira Marley and socialite Sam Larry had no involvement in the tragic death of singer Mohbad.

Delivering the ruling on Tuesday, Magistrate Ejiro Kubenje read out the legal advice from the Lagos Directorate of Public Prosecution (DPP), confirming that both Naira Marley and Sam Larry had no case to answer.

Also cleared were Owodunni Ibrahim, popularly known as Primeboy, and Mohbad’s former manager, Opere Babatunde.

However, the DPP stated that two individuals—an auxiliary nurse, Feyisayo Ogedengbe, and Mohbad’s friend, Ayobami Sadiq—will be prosecuted for reckless and negligent acts under Section 251 (e) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State.

The ruling brings a major turn in the case, which has gripped public attention since Mohbad’s untimely passing.
