Ex-Minister Claims Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan’s Beauty is a ‘Problem’ in Politics – Here’s Why.

Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan’s striking beauty is stirring up political conversation. According to Senator Adeseye Ogunlewe, a former Minister of Works, her physical appearance is becoming a challenge in her political career, as men find it hard to ignore her presence.

Speaking on Arise News on Monday, Ogunlewe explained that while female senators assert themselves confidently in political debates, Natasha’s beauty sets her apart in ways that impact how male colleagues interact with her. “Female senators don’t see themselves as inferior to men, and they are always up to the task,” Ogunlewe said, emphasizing their strength in discussions. But when it comes to Natasha, he believes her beauty complicates things.

“The beauty of Distinguished Senator Natasha is a problem to her,” Ogunlewe remarked. When questioned on how beauty could be a problem, he further elaborated, saying, “Men—when someone who is pretty passes by, your attitude changes. You can smile, wink, but you may not engage her.” He continued, “There’s no way a man will not look at a beautiful woman when she’s passing.”

Despite the controversy around his comments, Ogunlewe defended his perspective, stating that it’s a natural, instinctive reaction for men to notice attractive women. “How can you be a man, and a beautiful woman is passing, and you close your eyes?” he argued.

While some may find his views problematic, Ogunlewe stood by his observations, claiming they were based on natural human tendencies, not misogyny. His comments have certainly sparked a debate about the intersection of beauty, gender, and politics.
