Ebonyi Seals Strategic Deal with Norway to Boost Health, Education, Water, and Energy

Ebonyi State is set to collaborate with the Norwegian government to enhance critical sectors, including healthcare, education, water, sanitation, and energy. Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru made this known during a meeting with the Norwegian Ambassador to Nigeria, Svein Baera, at the Government House.

Highlighting the significance of the partnership, Governor Nwifuru called on the Ananda Marga Universal Relief Team (AMURT) to upgrade primary healthcare facilities across the state, particularly for maternal and child health.

“We acknowledge Norway’s contributions to our country, especially in education through NORCAP. We look forward to a strong partnership in healthcare, solar energy, and water supply, particularly in rural areas,” Nwifuru stated.

Ambassador Baera praised the governor’s commitment to development, stating, “I have witnessed the transformation in Ebonyi firsthand. As an ambassador, I believe in exploring beyond Abuja and Lagos to understand Nigeria better.”

As part of his visit, Baera is set to inspect the Norwegian College of Agricultural Project, established over six decades ago, further strengthening ties between Norway and Ebonyi State.
