Marvel Unveils ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ Cast – Chris Hemsworth, Anthony Mackie, Vanessa Kirby & More (Live Updates)

The Avengers Are Back—And So Is Iron Man… But as Doctor Doom?!

Hollywood, USA

Marvel has just set the internet on fire with its electrifying announcement of “Avengers: Doomsday,” live-streamed across YouTube and social media. For the first time since 2019’s “Endgame,” Earth’s Mightiest Heroes are assembling again—but this time, alliances are shifting, and some unexpected faces are joining the battle.

Returning icons include Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Anthony Mackie as Captain America, Danny Ramirez as the new Falcon, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes, Paul Rudd as Ant-Man, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Letitia Wright as the new Black Panther, and Winston Duke as M’Baku. But the real shake-up comes with fresh additions like Vanessa Kirby as the Invisible Woman, Joseph Quinn as the Human Torch, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as The Thing—finally bridging the gap between “The Avengers” and “The Fantastic Four.”

The “Thunderbolts*” squad is also stepping into the spotlight, with Florence Pugh’s Yelena Belova, David Harbour’s Red Guardian, Wyatt Russell’s U.S. Agent, Hannah John-Kamen’s Ghost, and Lewis Pullman’s enigmatic Bob all suiting up. And if that wasn’t enough to break the internet, get ready for the biggest multiversal twists yet—Tenoch Huerta Mejía’s Namor, Kelsey Grammer’s Beast, and Patrick Stewart’s Charles Xavier are back. If you thought Professor X was gone for good after “Logan” and “Doctor Strange 2,” think again.

But here’s the jaw-dropper: Robert Downey Jr., the face of Iron Man and the heart of the Infinity Saga, isn’t returning as Tony Stark. Instead, he’s donning the mask of one of Marvel’s most feared villains—Doctor Doom. “New mask, same task,” Downey teased at San Diego Comic-Con, leaving fans in absolute disbelief. Is this the ultimate betrayal of his legacy, or the boldest move in MCU history?

Directed by the Russo Brothers, “Avengers: Doomsday” is shaping up to be the most explosive chapter in Marvel history. With “Thunderbolts*” dropping on May 2 and “The Fantastic Four: First Steps” landing on July 25, the road to Marvel’s ultimate showdown is officially underway.

Mark your calendars—”Avengers: Doomsday” storms into theaters on May 1, 2026.
