Tragedy Strikes in Kebbi: Gunmen Kill Two Customs Officers and One Civilian in Shocking Border Attack

In a chilling attack on Tuesday, suspected Lakurawa gunmen killed two Customs officers and one civilian at the Bachaka border in Argungu Local Government Area, Kebbi State. The shocking incident has left the community in mourning as authorities work to piece together the details.

The Kebbi State Police Command confirmed the attack, with Police Public Relations Officer, SP Nafiu Abubakar, revealing that while the identities of the slain officers are still unknown, their tragic deaths highlight the growing threats posed by armed groups in the region. He also confirmed that a native of Bachaka village lost their life during the assault.

In response to the deadly attack, Kebbi State’s Commissioner of Police, CP Bello Sani, visited the scene and offered a firm statement of resolve. “These attacks are desperate acts by weakened criminal elements who are clearly on the run from ongoing military and law enforcement operations,” he stated, reinforcing that such assaults will not deter security forces from their mission to eliminate these criminals.

This latest tragedy comes just one day after combined security forces successfully neutralized two suspected Lakurawa militants in the state, showing that the battle against armed groups in Kebbi continues to intensify.

As of now, efforts to reach the Kebbi Customs Command for an official statement on the attack have been unsuccessful. The investigation into this brutal assault is ongoing as authorities vow to bring the perpetrators to justice.

The attack is yet another reminder of the dangers faced by security personnel and civilians alike in this volatile region.
