Eid-el-Fitr Security Boost: NSCDC Deploys 2,800 Personnel Across Kwara for a Peaceful Celebration

Ahead of the Eid-el-Fitr celebrations, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Kwara State Command has rolled out a major security plan, deploying 2,800 personnel to ensure a peaceful and safe holiday for residents. This strategic move aims to protect critical national assets and safeguard the public during the festive period.

In a statement released on Thursday, the NSCDC Kwara Command’s Public Relations Officer, ASC Ayoola Michael, shared that the Kwara State Commandant, Dr. Umar Mohammed, confirmed that the security operatives have been stationed across all 16 local government areas. Special attention has been given to high-risk areas such as black spots, flashpoints, and vulnerable locations prone to criminal activities.

Dr. Mohammed explained that specialized tactical teams and intelligence operatives will be closely monitoring these areas to prevent any disruption of peace, while also being prepared to respond quickly to any emergencies that may arise. Area Commanders and Divisional Officers have also been instructed to increase patrols and improve the overall security presence throughout the holiday.

In addition to his security measures, Commandant Umar extended warm Eid wishes to the Muslim community, urging residents to stay vigilant and cooperate with law enforcement agencies by reporting any suspicious activities. He also issued a stern warning to any potential troublemakers, stressing that the NSCDC is fully equipped and committed to ensuring a smooth and trouble-free celebration.

With the federal government declaring Monday, March 31, and Tuesday, April 1, 2025, as public holidays for the Eid festival, the NSCDC is ready to keep Kwara safe and secure throughout the festivities.
