Eyes in the Sky: FCT Police Boss Unveils Drone Surveillance to Tackle Crime in Abuja

Abuja’s new Commissioner of Police, CP Ajao Saka Adewale, has vowed to revolutionize security in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) by deploying cutting-edge technology, including drones, CCTV cameras, and real-time crime mapping tools.

Speaking during his first official meeting with Area Commanders and tactical teams, CP Adewale revealed his vision for a proactive, intelligence-driven security strategy that will make Abuja safer for residents and businesses alike.

“We are setting up a 24/7 Command and Control Center to ensure swift responses to distress calls. Crime prevention, not just reaction, is our priority,” he said.

Tech-Driven Policing for a Safer FCT

CP Adewale outlined a three-pronged approach to crime fighting:
Intelligence Gathering – Strengthening surveillance through drones and enhanced monitoring networks.
Community Engagement – Partnering with local leaders and residents to foster trust and collaboration.
Inter-Agency Cooperation – Working closely with the military, DSS, and NSCDC for better intelligence sharing.

He assured residents that policing in the FCT under his watch will be transparent, responsive, and people-centered.

CP Adewale, who officially took office on March 26, 2025, brings decades of experience in tackling organized crime, fraud, and urban policing. With his tech-first strategy, Abuja may soon set a new standard for security across Nigeria.
