Rampant Barcelona Demolish Wolfsburg to Storm into Women’s Champions League Semis

Barcelona’s women’s team delivered a footballing masterclass on Thursday night, thrashing Wolfsburg 6-1 to secure their spot in the UEFA Women’s Champions League semi-finals with a staggering 10-2 aggregate victory.

The defending champions made history, becoming the first team to reach seven consecutive semi-finals in the tournament’s history. They will now face either Chelsea or Manchester City in the next round.

Still stinging from their shock El Clásico loss to Real Madrid in Liga F over the weekend, Barcelona bounced back in style, completely outclassing their German opponents at the Johan Cruyff Stadium.

Salma Paralluelo set the tone early, slotting home a precise finish after a brilliant assist from two-time Ballon d’Or winner Aitana Bonmatí. The relentless attacking play continued, with Esmee Brugts rattling the crossbar before setting up Paralluelo for her second. Moments later, Brugts got on the scoresheet herself with a stunning long-range strike.

Claudia Pina came off the bench to add to Wolfsburg’s misery, sneaking a shot past goalkeeper Anneke Borbe at the near post. The visitors managed a consolation goal through Lineth Beerensteyn after a defensive error, but Barcelona weren’t done yet.

Pina’s exquisite free-kick crashed in off the post to make it five, before Mapi León unleashed a long-range rocket in stoppage time to cap off a ruthless display.

With their attacking prowess in full force, Barcelona now set their sights on yet another Champions League final, eager to add another trophy to their growing dynasty.
