The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has declared prominent businesswoman and socialite Aisha Achimugu wanted over allegations of criminal conspiracy and money laundering.
The anti-graft agency made the announcement on Friday via its official X (formerly Twitter) handle, calling on the public to provide information regarding her whereabouts.
EFCC Issues Arrest Warrant as Achimugu Evades Summons
According to a circular released by EFCC spokesperson Dele Oyewale, 51-year-old Aisha Achimugu, an indigene of Ofu Local Government Area in Kogi State, failed to appear before investigators despite being summoned over an alleged high-profile investment scam.
The letter, dated March 4, 2025, and signed by Adebayo Adeniyi, the acting EFCC Zonal Director in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, requested Achimugu to report for questioning at the agency’s office on March 5. However, rather than comply, she allegedly left Nigeria on March 6, prompting authorities to secure an arrest warrant.
EFCC Urges Public to Assist in Apprehending Achimugu
The agency provided Achimugu’s last known address as 6C, Rudolf Close, Maitama, Abuja, and urged anyone with useful information to contact EFCC offices nationwide or report to the nearest police station.
