Toronto Blue Jays star Vladimir Guerrero Jr. will be heading into free agency after the 2025 MLB season, as contract extension talks with the team failed to reach an agreement.

The Blue Jays and Guerrero had set Monday as the deadline to finalize a deal, but negotiations ultimately fell short. When asked about it, Guerrero kept it blunt and to the point: “They had their numbers, I had my numbers.”

The 25-year-old slugger remains one of the league’s top hitters, coming off a strong 2024 season where he played 159 games, racking up a .323 batting average, 199 hits, 30 home runs, and 103 RBIs.
