Newsbino gathered that former Senate President, Senator David Mark, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of two iconic elder statesmen, Pa Edwin Kiagbodo Clark and Pa Ayo Adebanjo, describing their deaths as a monumental loss to Nigeria’s socio-political landscape.

In a heartfelt tribute, Senator Mark referred to them as the “last conscience of the nation,” emphasizing their relentless fight for a just and equitable Nigeria. “Their exit creates a void that will be difficult to fill, especially at a time when the country desperately needs men of courage and integrity to navigate its challenges,” he stated.

Mark acknowledged that while Clark and Adebanjo may not have witnessed the Nigeria of their dreams, their tireless efforts laid the groundwork for national progress. He urged the Bola Tinubu-led administration to honor their legacy by immortalizing them for their selfless contributions to the nation’s development.

“These statesmen stood unwaveringly for patriotism, equal opportunities, unity, peace, and progress. Their sacrifices should serve as a guiding light for Nigeria’s future generations,” Mark added.

Extending his condolences to their families and the people of Ogun and Delta States, Senator Mark encouraged them to find solace in the remarkable legacies left behind by these great men.
