Barcelona Confident in Keeping Olmo and Victor Amid La Liga Registration Battle

Barcelona remains optimistic that Dani Olmo and Pau Victor will stay registered with the club for the rest of the season, despite ongoing legal battles and controversy surrounding their status.

The Blaugrana secured a temporary injunction in January to ensure both players remained eligible while they contest La Liga’s decision to un-register them. The league, along with the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), removed Olmo and Victor from Barcelona’s squad list on January 1, citing the club’s failure to meet salary cap requirements after initially registering them under an emergency injury provision.

Barcelona, however, argues that they met all necessary financial requirements on time and blames La Liga for delays due to additional proof-of-funds requests—something the club claims was not part of the regulations at the time.

The temporary injunction keeping them registered is set to expire on April 7, but Barcelona is already preparing an appeal should the ruling go against them. If necessary, they will take the matter to the Court of Contentious Decisions, ensuring Olmo and Victor remain available for selection while the legal process continues. Their ultimate goal is to keep both players eligible until the season ends, after which they can officially register them in the summer.

Adding further intrigue to the situation, La Liga is also scrutinizing Barcelona’s recent €100 million deal involving the 30-year lease of VIP seats at Camp Nou. The league suspects the agreement may have involved undisclosed favors in exchange for financial backing. However, Barcelona remains confident there will be no repercussions, as the funds have already been processed.

With legal battles looming and financial scrutiny intensifying, the Catalan giants remain determined to keep their squad intact as they push forward in the season.
