Manchester United’s struggles in front of goal have reached a critical point, with Rasmus Højlund failing to score in his last 15 appearances. As frustration mounts, football pundit Flemming Toft believes it’s time for a bold change—bringing in 17-year-old rising star Chido Obi to replace the misfiring Danish forward.

Toft emphasized the urgency of the situation, noting that manager Ruben Amorim must explore fresh attacking options, especially after a shocking ten-game goal drought.

“Højlund is struggling with both his play and scoring problems at Manchester United. This could push Ruben Amorim to give Chido Obi a chance in the hunt for goals,” Toft said on Campo.

Despite his age, Obi has already made an impression. He made his first-team debut as a late substitute against Tottenham, earning praise from Amorim, who hinted at wanting to give the teenager even more minutes.

Obi’s incredible goal-scoring form at the youth level further strengthens his case for a promotion. With seven goals in just three U-18 games, he has shown he possesses the natural finishing ability United desperately needs.

“Amorim knows he must try something new, especially in a season where United has gone ten games without a goal,” Toft added.

The question now is whether Amorim will take the gamble and throw Obi into the starting XI or continue to place faith in Højlund, despite his ongoing struggles.

With United’s goal drought worsening and the pressure intensifying, fans are eager to see if Obi can be the breakthrough star to change the club’s fortunes. One thing is certain—the young striker’s moment could be arriving sooner than expected.
