Popular media personality and comedian Chinedu Ani Emmanuel, widely known as Nedu Wazobia, has finally addressed the swirling controversies surrounding his name. In a press conference held in Lagos, the outspoken broadcaster set the record straight on various allegations, making it clear that he is done tolerating false accusations and manipulation.
“I Wasn’t Fired – I Walked Away”
Clarifying rumors about his exit from The Honest Bunch Podcast, Nedu dismissed claims that he was fired. “I made the personal decision to step away when the attacks became personal. I wasn’t fired,” he stated, emphasizing that his departure was in the best interest of the show.
The controversy ignited when comedian and reality TV star DeeOne alleged on the podcast that social media critic Martins ‘VeryDarkMan’ Otse was gay. Following the claims, VeryDarkMan accused Nedu of masterminding the allegations and further accused him of exploiting female guests on the show.
“The Nice Part of Me Is Dead”
Expressing his frustration over the constant backlash, Nedu declared he was cutting off accessibility to protect his peace.
“I’m done being nice. My niceness has been taken for granted, and I’ve been abused by people who claim to be my friends. If you have my number, delete it. I don’t want to be reachable or accessible anymore,” he stated.
Allegations of Fraud? Here’s the Truth
Nedu and his management team also dismissed claims of fraud involving the Nedu Scholarship Foundation (NDSCHF).
“All funds for the initiative were managed by a globally recognized social enterprise, ensuring transparency and accountability. Nedu never personally handled or controlled donations,” a statement from Tokindrumz Management clarified. They also provided financial records and agreements to relevant authorities to support their claims.
Sarah Williams-Konha, Chief Operations Officer of Tokindrumz Management, condemned the accusations. “This has gone beyond petty rumors. Legal action is coming. We will not allow these false allegations to continue unchallenged.”
On Alleged Sexual Misconduct
Regarding the claims of improper relationships with female guests on The Honest Bunch Podcast, both Nedu and his management declined to respond to what they called “gossip and hearsay.”
Finally, the broadcaster reassured fans that he is in good health, debunking rumors of hospitalization. “I am hale and hearty,” he confirmed.
With his lawyers now involved, it appears Nedu is ready to fight back against his critics and reclaim his reputation.
