The All Progressives Congress (APC) has dismissed claims that it operates as a one-man show, insisting that the party remains inclusive and democratic.

Reacting to allegations by former Kaduna State governor, Nasir El-Rufai, Imo State Governor and Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum, Hope Uzodimma, stated that the APC’s structure allows for broad participation and representation across all geopolitical zones.

Speaking to journalists after the party’s caucus meeting at the State House in Abuja, Uzodimma said, “Our party is united, stronger, and fully behind President Bola Tinubu’s administration. APC is the party to beat, not just in Nigeria but across Africa.”

He dismissed the exclusion claims, pointing out the presence of governors from Lagos, Edo, Sokoto, and other regions as proof of the party’s inclusivity.

On internal democracy, Uzodimma said, “We keep winning elections because we demonstrate high capacity and respect for democratic processes.”

The APC also announced the launch of its Progressive Institute, an intellectual think tank for research and policy development. Uzodimma praised the initiative, calling it “a game-changer for political leadership and governance in Nigeria.”

The caucus meeting, attended by President Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, and other top APC leaders, focused on strengthening party unity, economic strategies, and tackling national security.

With the APC’s National Executive Council (NEC) meeting set to follow, the party looks to solidify its strategies ahead of upcoming political engagements.
