In response to the alarming kidnapping of Afenifere Youth Leader, Prince Eniola Ojajuni, the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun, has swiftly deployed the Intelligence Response Team (IRT) to ensure his safe return. Ojajuni, who was abducted on February 17, 2025, while traveling to Abuja, is now the central focus of a high-priority rescue operation.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, emphasized that the IGP had personally ordered the deployment of all necessary resources to guarantee Ojajuni’s safe rescue. The IGP commended the officers involved for their quick action and unwavering commitment to securing the safety of Nigerian citizens.

“The Nigeria Police Force is fully dedicated to the safe release of Prince Eniola Ojajuni,” Adejobi said. “We are deploying every resource and expertise at our disposal to bring this situation to a peaceful resolution.”

The police have also urged the public to refrain from spreading unverified information about the incident on social media, warning that such actions could jeopardize the ongoing operation. “We urge citizens to avoid speculating or sharing unconfirmed details that could put the victim’s safety at risk,” Adejobi cautioned. “Our goal is to dismantle criminal networks and restore safety to our communities.”

The statement also highlighted the police’s recent successes, including a major raid in Taraba State. On February 26, 2025, operatives intercepted a criminal hideout at Wamunchi dry-season rice farms, arresting 20 suspects and seizing an AK-47 rifle, live ammunition, and other weapons.

In Oyo State, a rapid response from tactical teams and local security outfits resulted in the rescue of three kidnapping victims from the palace of Baale Tajudeen Inaolaji on February 24, 2025. One of the kidnappers was also arrested during the operation.

The police remain resolute in their efforts to tackle crime and ensure the safety of all Nigerians.
