The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has officially published the “Notice of Polls” for the upcoming Area Council elections in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), scheduled for Saturday, February 21, 2026.
According to the notice released on Wednesday, INEC reaffirmed that the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) will be used, ensuring a more transparent and credible process. The commission also emphasized its “No PVC, No Voting” policy, meaning only registered voters with a valid Permanent Voter Card (PVC) will be allowed to participate.
The elections will take place across all polling units in the six Area Councils of the FCT, starting at 8:30 AM.
As the countdown begins, INEC urges eligible voters to verify their registration and prepare to exercise their civic rights in the crucial elections.
