The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has ushered in a new leadership team, with Comrade Oladoja Olusola emerging as the National President after a widely praised and peaceful election held in Abuja.

The election, which concluded in the early hours of today at the Old Parade Ground, was described as one of the most transparent and well-organized in NANS history. Delegates from various institutions nationwide participated, ensuring a credible democratic process.

Alongside Olusola, Anzaku Shedrack was elected General Secretary, while Usman Adamu secured the position of Senate President. Other key officials include Adeyemi Samson as Public Relations Officer (PRO) and Adejuwon Olatunji as Assistant Secretary-General.

Speaking after his victory, Olusola expressed gratitude to Nigerian students for their trust and pledged to focus on student welfare, educational reforms, and advocacy for policies that benefit students nationwide.

“This victory is for all Nigerian students. We will work tirelessly to make NANS a strong, proactive voice for students across the country,” he assured.

He also emphasized plans to strengthen student financing through NELFUND, push for improved education policies, and create employment opportunities for graduates through collaborations with the government and private sector.

The peaceful conduct of the election has been widely commended, with former student leaders and stakeholders urging the new NANS leadership to uphold their commitments and work towards meaningful change for Nigerian students.
