Kylian Mbappe is set to return to action for Real Madrid against Real Betis this weekend after recovering from dental surgery, manager Carlo Ancelotti confirmed on Friday.
The French superstar was absent from Madrid’s midweek Copa del Rey victory over Real Sociedad due to a wisdom tooth removal but is now back in full training and eager to play.
“Mbappe’s tooth? Well, I think it’s gone, and he’s not getting it back,” Ancelotti joked during his press conference. “But apart from that, he’s doing very well and ready to play with a lot of enthusiasm.”
Madrid, currently tied on points with league leaders Barcelona but trailing on goal difference, faces a tough away fixture against seventh-placed Betis on Saturday. The match also serves as crucial preparation ahead of their Champions League last-16 showdown against Atletico Madrid next week.
Mbappe has been in sensational form, netting 14 goals in his last 12 appearances. While Madrid will be without the suspended Jude Bellingham, Ancelotti reassured fans that Fede Valverde is fit and available for selection.
