Meta has fired around 20 employees for leaking confidential company information, reinforcing its strict stance on internal security. The decision comes amid growing scrutiny over CEO Mark Zuckerberg’s evolving relationship with former U.S. President Donald Trump.
A company spokesperson confirmed the layoffs, stating, “We remind employees regularly that sharing internal information is against our policies, regardless of intent. We take this seriously and will continue to take action when necessary.”
The leaks reportedly stemmed from internal meetings where Zuckerberg expressed frustration about company transparency leading to frequent media leaks. According to reports, he told employees, “We try to be really open, and then everything I say leaks. It sucks.”
