Kaduna State’s Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Alhaji Sadiq Mamman Lagos, has made it clear that former Governor Nasir El-Rufai holds no power over what will happen in the 2027 elections. According to him, only God will determine who wins at both the state and national levels.

Mamman Lagos also criticized El-Rufai’s recent remarks against President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Uba Sani, urging the former governor to stay away from Kaduna politics.

In a media interview, Mamman Lagos emphasized that Governor Uba Sani remains focused on governance and will not be distracted by individuals who believe they can control political outcomes.

“Governor Uba Sani has done more than expected, even earning praise from opposition figures. He has reversed unpopular policies, reduced high tuition fees, restored traditional rulers removed by the previous administration, and embarked on massive infrastructural projects across all three senatorial zones,” he stated.

Meanwhile, 255 councilors from Kaduna State have publicly endorsed President Tinubu and Governor Uba Sani for re-election in 2027. Speaking on their behalf, Muhammad Sani Badiko declared that there is “no vacancy” in the Presidential Villa or the Kaduna Government House until after 2031.

Badiko praised Governor Sani’s achievements, particularly in rural development, economic recovery, education, and healthcare, vowing to mobilize grassroots support for his second term.

As political tensions rise in Kaduna, Mamman Lagos warned against inflammatory statements, reminding all political players that “the electorate, not individuals, will decide the next election.”
