Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has extended his heartfelt condolences to Katsina State Governor, Mallam Dikko Radda, following the passing of his mother, Hajiya Safara’u Barebari, who died at the age of 93.

During his visit to the governor’s residence, Obi emphasized the importance of honoring the departed and seeking comfort in faith. “We are here this morning to sincerely offer our condolences on the passing of your beloved mother,” Obi stated. He explained that he had delayed his visit until after the holiday season to ensure a more reflective moment for the grieving family.

“Today, we gather not to question the will of Almighty Allah, for we are all under His divine mercy. When He calls us home, we must answer,” Obi said, praying for the deceased and asking God to grant her eternal rest while strengthening the bereaved family.

Obi was accompanied by former Minister of Finance, Mrs. Nenadi Usman, and Labour Party’s National Spokesperson, Alhaji Yunusa Tanko, underscoring the significance of his visit.

FRSC Zonal Commander Also Pays Tribute

In a separate condolence visit, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) North West Zonal Commander, Ahmed Umar, also extended his sympathies to Governor Radda and the people of Katsina.

“The loss of a mother leaves an irreplaceable void, a test of faith that shakes the core of our hearts,” Umar stated, praying for strength and endurance for the grieving family. He also offered prayers for peace and unity in Katsina State and Nigeria as a whole.

Governor’s Office Expresses Gratitude

Receiving the guests on behalf of Governor Radda, Deputy Governor Faruk Jobe expressed profound appreciation for the outpouring of support.

“Your presence here to condole with His Excellency, the State Government, and the good people of Katsina is deeply appreciated,” he said, thanking all those who have extended their sympathies during this difficult time.

As tributes continue to pour in, the people of Katsina State stand united in mourning the loss of a beloved matriarch, while leaders from across the country offer their prayers and support.
