Former Senator Shehu Sani has declined an invitation to serve as a judge for the upcoming Miss World Nigeria Beauty Pageant, which is set to take place at the Federal Palace Hotel in Lagos on April 4.

The announcement of his appointment came from event organizer and former colleague, Senator Ben Bruce, who shared the news on social media, congratulating Sani on the role and requesting his timely arrival for the event.

However, Sani took to his own social media account the following day to turn down the honor. In his response, he humorously explained that his decision was due to a few personal reasons. “My wives will not be happy if I serve as a judge,” Sani joked, adding, “I haven’t even decided who is the most beautiful between my wives, let alone judging others I don’t know.”

He also mentioned that he did not feel qualified for the position, as he lacks the experience necessary for judging beauty pageants. Furthermore, Sani emphasized that the timing coincides with the Sallah period, a time traditionally spent with family and friends.

The former lawmaker expressed gratitude for the honor but offered his apologies for any inconvenience his decision may have caused to Bruce and the event organizers.
