If you’ve been stressing about missing the 2025 Direct Entry registration deadline, breathe easy—JAMB says it’s not closing on April 7 as rumored.

In a new update, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially debunked the viral reports suggesting the DE registration would end on Monday, April 7. According to a statement released on Saturday by JAMB’s spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin, the registration is still very much ongoing.

“Candidates can continue to register at any of our designated Professional Registration Centres,” the statement reads. “There is no set closing date yet, and we’ll make an official announcement when the time comes.”

The board also explained that the extended timeline gives them room to dig deeper into ongoing investigations surrounding candidates attempting to register with fake A-Level credentials.

“We’re currently tracking individuals who’ve tried to use forged results to sneak into the system,” JAMB warned. “And to be clear, the board has tools to spot such acts—not just now, but even years down the line.”

For anyone who has previously submitted doctored credentials, JAMB has a message: step back now or face the consequences. The board confirmed that investigations are expanding to include even those who’ve already been admitted into institutions using questionable documents.
