In a major move aimed at strengthening governance in Rivers State, the Sole Administrator, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (Rtd), has announced the appointment of key figures to lead the Civil Service Commission and the Local Government Service Commission. The announcement, made in a Special Government Statement issued on Wednesday, outlines the leadership appointments that are set to enhance the state’s administrative efficiency and service delivery.
The newly appointed members will take on their roles starting from April 7, 2025. The Civil Service Commission will now be led by Dr. Livinus Bariki as Chairman, supported by four other distinguished members: Ambassador Lot Peter Egopija, Mrs. Maeve Ere Bestman, Mrs. Joy Obiaju, and Mrs. Charity Lloyd Harry. This new leadership team is expected to bring fresh insights and a stronger focus on improving the state’s civil service operations.
Meanwhile, the Local Government Service Commission will be chaired by Mr. Isreal N. Amadi, who will be joined by six other appointees, including Mr. Linus Nwandem, Lady Christabel Ego, George Didia, Dr. Tonye Willie D. Pepple, Barrister Richard Ewoh, Rear Admiral Emmanuel Ofik (Rtd), and Dr. Sammy Apiafi. This strategic appointment aims to improve local government administration and service delivery in Rivers State.
