In a powerful show of compassion and patriotism, Nigerian airline Air Peace has pledged to evacuate trafficked underaged Nigerian girls from Ivory Coast—completely free of charge—and provide them with comprehensive medical care upon arrival.
The airline’s Chairman, Allen Onyema, made the announcement following viral reports by Nigerian activist VeryDarkMan (Martins Vincent Otse), who sounded the alarm about dozens of young Nigerian girls being trafficked and exploited in Ivory Coast.
Deeply moved by the ordeal, Onyema described human trafficking as “inhumane, callous, and ungodly,” calling for a united national front to combat it.
“We cannot, as a nation, turn our backs on our daughters in distress. Air Peace is ready to bring them home—free of charge—and give them the medical attention they urgently need,” Onyema said.
In addition to the free flights, Air Peace has committed to sending the rescued girls to Duchess International Hospital in Ikeja, Lagos, for full medical evaluations and treatment, also at no cost.
The airline has called on the Nigerian Embassy in Ivory Coast to help identify and organize the girls for safe return, while also urging the Federal Government to take responsibility for their rehabilitation and education.
This humanitarian gesture has been widely applauded on social media, with many Nigerians praising Air Peace for stepping up when it matters most.
As the country reckons with the growing crisis of human trafficking, Onyema’s call is loud and clear: “Let’s bring our girls home and give them a future they deserve.”
