Former football star Bastian Schweinsteiger and tennis champion Ana Ivanovic have reportedly separated after nearly a decade of marriage, according to German outlet Blunte.
The couple, once seen as one of Europe’s most beloved sports power duos, are said to have been living apart for the past two months. While Schweinsteiger, 39, has been frequently traveling—most recently spotted in Jakarta, Indonesia—Ivanovic, 36, has been staying in Serbia with their three children.
The long-distance strain seems to have taken a toll on their relationship, with reports claiming the couple haven’t been seen together in public for several months. Their last shared Instagram post dates back to December 2024.
Married in a romantic ceremony in Venice back in 2016, the pair have kept their private life relatively low-key over the years. But fans began to speculate something was amiss after their absence from each other’s social media feeds and public appearances.
While neither Schweinsteiger nor Ivanovic has officially commented on the rumored split, insiders suggest that Ana is leaning on her close-knit family—her parents and brother—for support in Serbia.
Schweinsteiger, who retired from professional football in 2019, now works as a football analyst for ARD Sportschau in Germany. He also released a biographical book in 2022 titled One of You, sharing personal insights into his journey on and off the pitch.
