Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti says he has “no problem” if the club decides to part ways with him following their Champions League exit at the hands of Arsenal.

The Gunners delivered a stunning 2-1 victory at the Santiago Bernabéu on Wednesday, completing a dominant 5-1 aggregate win to send the defending champions packing at the quarter-final stage.

It marked Madrid’s 12th loss this season — a sharp contrast to last year’s stellar campaign with only two defeats — and questions around Ancelotti’s future have naturally intensified.

Speaking to reporters after the match, the unbothered Italian tactician remained philosophical:

“The club could decide to change the coach — this year, next year, whenever my contract ends. No problem,” said Ancelotti. “Whenever I leave, whether it’s tomorrow or in a year, I will only have gratitude for this club.”

Despite the setback, Madrid are still in the running for silverware on multiple fronts — La Liga, the Copa del Rey, and the Club World Cup — but speculation is swirling over potential replacements. Xabi Alonso, currently enjoying a remarkable run with Bayer Leverkusen, and Jurgen Klopp, who’s set to leave Liverpool, are among the rumored successors.

Reflecting on the Arsenal match, Ancelotti admitted his side fell short despite their effort.

“The team gave everything in attitude. We just couldn’t break them down. Arsenal defended brilliantly, and though we had intensity, it simply wasn’t enough.”

With the season far from over, the veteran coach remains focused — but he’s clearly ready for whatever the future holds.
