Real Madrid’s midfield dynamo, Eduardo Camavinga, has been ruled out for the remainder of the season after suffering a serious groin injury — a blow that could impact Los Blancos’ hunt for silverware on multiple fronts.
The French international sustained the injury during Madrid’s narrow 1–0 win over Getafe on Wednesday night in La Liga. What initially seemed like a minor issue was confirmed to be much worse after medical tests.
“Eduardo Camavinga has been diagnosed with a complete rupture of the left adductor tendon,” Real Madrid revealed in an official club statement on Thursday.
That diagnosis means the 22-year-old will miss Saturday’s Copa del Rey final against Barcelona, along with Madrid’s remaining five La Liga matches, as the team tries to chase down the Catalans in a tense title race.
But that’s not all — the injury could also sideline Camavinga for the summer, with reports suggesting he may miss the FIFA Club World Cup in the U.S., scheduled for later this year.
This season has already been a turbulent one for Camavinga, who’s struggled to replicate the form that saw him shine during Madrid’s La Liga and Champions League double last year.
With the midfield maestro out, all eyes will be on how Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti adapts — and whether the club can stay afloat in the final stretch without one of their most dynamic talents.
