Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, has appointed an interim management team to oversee the affairs of Lobi Stars Football Club, following the recent dissolution of the club’s management and board.
The new team will be led by Terver Ikya, who assumes the role of Chairman. Other members include Uja Emmanuel as Media Director, Harry Yachi as Technical Director, Terzungwe Chugh serving as Administrative/Board Secretary from the Ministry of Sports, and Barr. Owocho Adejoh Ogiri as a member.
The announcement, made in a statement issued on Wednesday by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Kula Tersoo, stated that the interim management will steer the club’s activities pending a comprehensive restructuring process.
Governor Alia, while inaugurating the new team, charged them to focus on rebuilding the club’s strength and reputation with unity and discipline.
He warned against internal distractions and emphasised the need for collaboration among members to return Lobi Stars to Nigeria’s top-flight football league next season.
Lobi Stars, once a consistent force in the Nigeria Premier Football League, were relegated last season after maintaining a 27-year run in the top division.
Governor Alia assured supporters that his administration remains committed to restoring the club’s lost glory and creating a sustainable framework for sports development in Benue State.
