JUST IN: Nasarawa State Lawmaker Disburses ₦20M Scholarship to 670 Students

Hon. Larry Ven-Bawa, Chief Whip of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, has disbursed ₦20 million as scholarships to over 670 students from his constituency studying in various tertiary institutions across Nigeria. The disbursement was made during the 3rd Edition of the Hon. Ven-Bawa Annual Value Addition Scholarship and Empowerment Scheme 2026, held in Akwanga Local Government Area.

The event was graced by Hon. Dr. Yakubu Kwanta, Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Nasarawa State, who showed support for the lawmaker’s initiative. Hon. Ven-Bawa explained that the scholarship scheme aims to complement the efforts of Governor Abdullahi A. Sule, parents, and guardians in promoting education and supporting the youth.

The scholarship scheme has become a regular feature of Hon. Ven-Bawa’s annual programs, with this year’s edition focusing on empowering students from his constituency. The event was attended by students, parents, and community leaders from Akwanga Local Government Area. In his address, Hon. Ven-Bawa encouraged the students to focus on their studies and contribute to the development of the state and Nigeria as a whole. He also urged them to be ambassadors of their communities and the state.
