Controversial Nigerian singer, Habeeb Okikiola, better known as Portable, has turned himself in to the Lagos State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Yaba, following a warrant for his arrest. This move comes after the Ogun State Police Command declared him wanted for allegedly leading a violent attack on government officials carrying out their duties.
SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed the development, stating that the Ogun Police have been contacted to take him into custody. The incident in question occurred on February 5, 2025, when Portable allegedly attacked officials from the Ogun State Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development while they were enforcing building regulations in Ota.
According to police, Portable arrived at the scene, armed with a firearm and accompanied by a gang of thugs, after his father was approached by officials. The attack left the enforcement officers injured, though they managed to escape and report the incident.
Despite repeated invitations to report to the Ogun State Police, Portable evaded arrest until now. Police warn that anyone found aiding or harboring him will face legal consequences.
