The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, has arrived in Milan, Italy, for a pivotal series of meetings focused on enhancing collaboration in agriculture and vocational education. Confirming his arrival, Wike’s Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media, Lere Olayinka, shared that the minister touched down in Milan early on Wednesday morning, after departing Abuja the previous night. Upon his arrival, he was warmly welcomed by Ambassador Mustapha Mohammed, Charge d’Affaires at the Nigerian Embassy in Italy.

Wike’s visit is marked by key engagements, including a crucial meeting on Thursday with Attilio Fontana, the President of the Lombardy Region. Lombardy, known for its economic prowess and advanced agricultural practices, will play a central role in discussions aimed at forging stronger ties in agriculture, vocational education, and regional development.

During the meeting, Wike and Fontana will explore potential collaborations to leverage Lombardy’s expertise in agriculture and vocational training systems, with a focus on boosting the FCT’s growth agenda. The FCT Minister is also scheduled to meet with agribusiness investors and vocational education experts, positioning the visit as a stepping stone for fostering innovative partnerships.

Accompanying the minister are key FCT officials, including Dr. Danlami Hayyo, Mandate Secretary for Education, Lawan Geidam, Mandate Secretary for Agriculture and Rural Development, and other senior aides. Together, they will explore new avenues to improve agricultural practices and vocational training, ensuring the FCT remains on a path of sustainable development.
