Popular Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, better known as Portable, has made a shocking revelation about his early social media journey. The controversial artist disclosed that he initially set up his Facebook and Instagram accounts with the intention of learning internet fraud, commonly known as “Yahoo Yahoo.”

In a trending video circulating online, Portable was seen having a conversation with Lagos-based content creator, Egungun of Lagos. When asked about the unusual name on his Instagram profile, ‘Elizabeth Joyce,’ he admitted that the account was originally created for fraudulent activities.

“Make I no lie for you, that time I wan learn Yahoo, I open one Facebook and Instagram account,” Portable confessed in Pidgin English.

However, after gaining fame, he decided to clean up the account. “Yahoo no gree, na hin I just open the account keep. When I hear say them dey look for me say I don blow, na hin I go edit am, delete oyinbo commot. Na working account now,” he added.

Portable rose to stardom in December 2021 with his breakout hit ‘Zazoo Zeh’, featuring Olamide and Poco Lee. But his career has been riddled with controversies.

Earlier this year, he had a run-in with Ogun State authorities, which led to his arrest and arraignment on multiple charges, including assault. He was accused of leading an attack on government officials attempting to shut down his bar over permit violations.

After being declared wanted on February 18, Portable later surrendered to the police and was granted bail set at N2 million. His case has been adjourned until March 5.
