Barcelona’s star goalkeeper, Marc-André ter Stegen, has confirmed the end of his seven-year marriage to wife Daniela Jehle, marking a tough personal chapter for the couple.
In an emotional statement shared on social media, the couple revealed that their decision to separate came after deep reflection.
“After careful consideration, Dani and I have decided to go our separate ways. This was not an easy decision, but we believe it’s the best step forward. Our priority remains our children, ensuring they grow up in a loving and stable environment,” Ter Stegen wrote.
Daniela echoed the sentiment, adding, “We kindly ask for privacy during this time, especially for our children.”
The news comes just a year after the birth of their second child, shocking fans who had admired their seemingly solid relationship. The couple wed in 2017 in an intimate ceremony in Sitges, near Barcelona.
Ter Stegen, 32, has also been battling a serious knee injury since September, keeping him off the pitch for most of the season. As he recovers, he remains hopeful about returning to action before the season ends, saying, “We’ll see… I’m working on it.”
The goalkeeper’s personal and professional struggles have left fans rallying behind him as he navigates this difficult period.
