Popular comedian and activist Adebowale Adedayo, aka Mr Macaroni, has doubled down on his refusal to greet Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, despite backlash from critics.

Addressing the controversy on X (formerly Twitter) on Monday, Mr Macaroni dismissed the uproar, making it clear that he has no regrets.

“This is the last time I will talk about this. Next time I see him, I still won’t greet him. Even if he calls me, I won’t answer. You people will cry today, tomorrow, and forever,” he fired back.

The skit maker, known for his outspoken activism, criticized Nigerians who defend politicians instead of holding them accountable.

“The people are suffering! Prices are skyrocketing. Instead of demanding better, you’re busy worshipping your leaders,” he said.

He also took shots at individuals who publicly criticize politicians but later seek favors in private.

“Some people insult their governors daily but secretly collect ‘envelopes’ to become praise singers. It kills them to see that some of us aren’t for sale,” he added.

Mr Macaroni condemned blind political loyalty, urging Nigerians to demand better leadership rather than defend politicians unconditionally.

“These people have no code, no dignity. They worship their oppressors, and that’s why Nigeria remains the way it is,” he stated.

Despite ongoing attacks, he reaffirmed his stance, insisting that he would never compromise his principles.

“I’m no saint, no hero, and far from perfect. But one thing I won’t do is betray my conscience,” he declared.
