President Bola Tinubu has vowed to rise above religious bias in tackling Nigeria’s escalating insecurity, assuring citizens of his unwavering commitment to building a united and prosperous nation. In a meeting with the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Nigeria (CBCN) at the State House in Abuja on Friday, Tinubu emphasized that insecurity affects every Nigerian, regardless of faith.

In a powerful statement, the President declared, “I have no religious bias; I won’t be a bigot. My wife is a pastor of Redeemed Christian Church of God, and I am committed to serving every Nigerian equally, irrespective of their faith.”

This message comes at a time when the country is grappling with multiple security challenges, with various religious groups bearing the brunt. Tinubu reiterated his government’s open-door policy, ensuring that his administration will always be open to dialogue and willing to listen to the concerns of the people.

Despite the challenges, the President also delivered a message of hope, reminding Nigerians of the potential for growth and stability in the face of adversity. He spoke candidly about the tough decision to remove the fuel subsidy, acknowledging the hardship it caused but also pointing out the long-term benefits: lower commodity prices, increased investment, and a stronger economy.

“Removing the fuel subsidy was a tough choice, but it was necessary for Nigeria’s future. We’re seeing the fruits now with more investments flowing into our country. What seemed like a difficult beginning is now bringing hope,” Tinubu remarked.

The President also underscored the significant progress made in curbing insecurity, with the nation’s security forces actively working to restore peace and safety for all citizens, regardless of their religion. He expressed his gratitude for the support and prayers from Nigerians, promising to continue his efforts toward a better and more secure future.

In a final note, Tinubu urged the citizens to remain hopeful, reiterating his firm resolve to address the country’s challenges without resorting to division, and to make Nigeria a country that stands tall on the global stage.
