Nollywood actress Dayo Amusa has shared her thoughts on the ongoing conversation surrounding singer Asake and his father, Fatai Odunsi.
Taking to social media on Saturday, Amusa emphasized that neither fame nor fortune can erase the pain of childhood wounds, particularly those caused by parental absence or rejection.
Reflecting on Asake’s journey, she recalled a moment when she noticed the singer covering his face with tattoos. “I once remarked that he was either rebranding or masking a pain he wasn’t ready to confront,” she said.
While rumors swirl about Asake’s strained relationship with his parents—some claiming his father was absent, others saying his mother was too strict—Amusa chose not to pass judgment. Instead, she urged people to show the artist love rather than scrutiny.
“Fame doesn’t heal the wounds of parental rejection,” she wrote. “A child raised on ‘I love you’ moves through life differently than one who hears, ‘I want nothing to do with you.’ Some wounds money cannot fix—only deep, intentional healing can.”
Speaking from personal experience, Amusa called on parents to be present in their children’s lives, reminding them that love and support at home shape a child’s future far more than external validation ever could.
“As a victim of such circumstances, I can relate. I wish him well,” she concluded.
