President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Dr. Fene Osakwe on his groundbreaking achievement as the first African to win the Cyber Personality of the Year award at the prestigious 2025 Cyber Security Awards in the UK.
Dr. Osakwe, who serves as the Chairman of the Lagos State Cybersecurity Advisory Board, was recognized for his outstanding leadership, advocacy, and expertise in cybersecurity and data privacy. He triumphed over top finalists from the United States, UAE, Qatar, the Netherlands, and the UK, cementing his place as a global cybersecurity trailblazer.
In an official statement, Presidential Spokesperson Bayo Onanuga conveyed Tinubu’s pride in Dr. Osakwe’s accomplishments, emphasizing the impact of young African professionals on the global stage.
“The President describes the 2025 Cyber Personality of the Year as an exceptional Nigerian and a worthy representation of Nigeria’s talented, innovative, and pace-setting youth,” the statement read.
Tinubu also reaffirmed his belief in Nigeria’s youth as the nation’s greatest asset and wished Dr. Osakwe even greater success in his future endeavors.
