Legal practitioner Dr. Benson Enikuomehin has applauded President Bola Tinubu’s declaration of a state of emergency in Rivers State, calling it a decisive and necessary move.
However, he insists that the real mastermind behind the political turmoil—FCT Minister Nyesom Wike—must not be spared.
“I commend Mr. President for taking this bold step,” Enikuomehin said. “The suspension of the governor, deputy governor, and House of Assembly members was needed, but the key figure fueling this crisis, Nyesom Wike, should also be removed from office.”
According to him, Wike’s alleged involvement in the state’s instability should not go unpunished. “Justice will only be served when all responsible parties are held accountable. Relieving Wike of his ministerial role will send a strong message and restore stability,” he added.
With tensions rising in Rivers State, calls for further action against those allegedly behind the crisis continue to grow. Will Tinubu heed the demand to remove Wike?
