The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has confirmed that the revocation of a land title belonging to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Abuja was due to a long-standing debt of N7.6 million in unpaid ground rent spanning from 2006 to 2025.

Addressing the media after an FCT Executive Committee meeting chaired by Minister Nyesom Wike, the FCTA Director of Land, Chijioke Nwankwoeze, dismissed claims that two PDP properties were affected. He clarified that only the party’s land in the Central Area was revoked, while the PDP headquarters in Wuse Zone 5 was never under its ownership.

“The land in Wuse Zone 5, where PDP’s headquarters stands, does not belong to the party. It is owned by Mr. Samaila Ofi, and he has been duly served a revocation notice due to outstanding ground rent of N2.85 million,” Nwankwoeze explained.

The FCTA further revealed that PDP was just one among 4,794 land titleholders affected by the recent wave of revocations approved by Wike, as part of efforts to recover unpaid ground rents totaling N6.97 billion from over 8,375 property owners.

With Abuja’s land administration tightening its grip on defaulters, the FCTA’s move signals a clear warning to property owners to settle their outstanding dues or risk losing their lands.
