The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, has reassured Nigerians that the long-awaited list of ambassadorial nominees will soon be forwarded to the Senate for approval.

Speaking at the 5th Ministerial Press Briefing in Abuja on Thursday, Tuggar acknowledged concerns over the delay but emphasized that such processes take time in governance and politics.

He also assured that Nigeria’s embassies worldwide remain operational, with mission officers effectively managing diplomatic affairs in the absence of appointed ambassadors.

“The delayed appointment of ambassadors is just part of the nature of governance. I want to assure you that in the near future, the names of appointed ambassadors will be sent to the Senate,” he stated.

The minister’s remarks come amid growing anticipation for new diplomatic appointments to strengthen Nigeria’s foreign relations.
