Popular skit maker and actor, Mr Macaroni, has shared a deeply personal story about his financial struggles, revealing that he was once over N500 million in debt due to a scam and a failed investment.

In a candid post on his X handle, the comedian, whose real name is Debo Adedayo, admitted that his financial woes began around 2021 when he lost all his savings. In a desperate attempt to stay afloat, he resorted to borrowing, assuming his steady income would cover the debts. However, he soon realized he was only paying off interest while his financial situation spiraled out of control.

“I make money in millions, so I never thought borrowing money would be a problem. But I got too comfortable, and it took me a long time to realize that I was using the money I was earning to pay back interests. My financial recklessness didn’t help either,” he admitted.

The comedian also opened up about the emotional toll of his struggles, revealing that 2024 has been one of the most difficult years of his life. His situation worsened after a betrayal by someone he once considered family.

Despite everything, Mr Macaroni expressed gratitude to his close friends and family, whose support helped him navigate his darkest times. Now in a better place, he shared his story to encourage others dealing with financial hardship, urging them to seek help and avoid reckless borrowing.
