The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has launched a series of powerful airstrikes, eliminating several terrorists and severely disrupting their operations in Borno and Katsina States. In a statement issued on Friday, Group Capt. Kabiru Ali, NAF’s Deputy Director of Public Relations, detailed the successful strikes carried out between March 17 and March 19.

These high-precision air interdiction missions targeted key terrorist hideouts in Chiralia, Grazah, Yuwe, and Zango Hill, delivering a devastating blow to the insurgents’ operational networks across both the North-East and North-West regions.

The Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai struck Chiralia, a notorious terrorist stronghold within the Timbuktu Triangle, on March 17. Intelligence reports revealed that this group had been conducting violent raids along major highways, kidnapping civilians, and stealing supplies. Responding swiftly, NAF’s attack aircraft unleashed an overwhelming series of strikes, destroying multiple enemy structures and killing terrorists attempting to flee.

The very next day, NAF carried out an intense airstrike on Grazah in the Mandara Mountains and Yuwe in the Sambisa Forest. These locations were identified as key terrorist hideouts, where extremist leaders were actively indoctrinating fighters. In a relentless offensive, NAF fighter jets carried out a barrage of precision strikes, obliterating targets and further weakening the terrorists’ grip on the region.

In the North-West, NAF fighter jets targeted Zango Hill in Katsina’s Kankara Local Government Area. Coordinating with ground forces, aerial surveillance pinpointed the positions of armed bandits entrenched in the rugged terrain. The swift deployment of NAF aircraft, followed by continuous bombardments, left the bandits with no chance of escaping. Additionally, NAF helicopters provided vital Close Air Support, ensuring that ground forces could advance without interference.

These successful airstrikes have not only eliminated high-value terrorist targets but also destroyed critical infrastructure used by the insurgents for logistics and coordination. With these operations, NAF has severely disrupted the terrorists’ activities and reinforced its commitment to securing peace across the affected regions.

The Nigerian Air Force continues to coordinate closely with ground forces in its efforts to restore security and peace to these regions, proving that they remain a formidable force in the fight against terrorism.
