Delta State’s political landscape is heating up as Hon. Francis Waive, a member of the House of Representatives, has called on the All Progressives Congress (APC) to adopt Governor Sheriff Oborevwori as its sole candidate for the 2027 gubernatorial race.
Waive, who represents Ughelli North, Ughelli South, and Udu Federal Constituency, believes Oborevwori’s impressive track record and strong ties with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu make him the best choice. “Gov Sheriff has shocked every Deltan with his people-oriented programs and quality projects,” he told journalists.
The lawmaker insists that backing Oborevwori would not only ensure APC’s victory in Delta but also resolve the internal crisis plaguing the party. “With him on the APC ticket alongside President Tinubu, victory is certain. This is the synergy APC Delta needs,” he declared.
Waive also pointed out that the state’s governorship rotation system favors Oborevwori, who would be completing just one more term. “I call on all Deltans to support this move as it will further unite us as a people,” he added.
With this unexpected endorsement, the 2027 Delta gubernatorial race just got more interesting.
