Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, has dismissed reports that he has anointed a successor for the 2027 governorship election, calling such claims baseless and misleading.

Addressing journalists at the Press Centre in Lafia on Wednesday, Governor Sule’s Senior Special Assistant on Public Affairs, Peter Ahemba, made it clear that the governor has not endorsed anyone and will not tolerate political distractions.

“We want to categorically state that Governor Abdullahi Sule has no anointed candidate for 2027. Any government appointee promoting such a claim is being insubordinate, and the governor will not condone it,” Ahemba warned.

He urged the public to disregard politicians parading themselves as the governor’s chosen successor, emphasizing that the people of Nasarawa will decide their leader when the time comes.

“With over two years left in office, Governor Sule remains committed to delivering the dividends of democracy, and he will not be distracted by political speculations,” he added.

The governor reassured citizens that his administration is focused on governance and urged them to remain patient and law-abiding as he continues to work towards the state’s development.
