PORT HARCOURT – The Rivers State Police Command has arrested four individuals, including a native doctor, over the gruesome ritual killing of two seven-year-old children in Rukpokwu, Obio/Akpor Local Government Area.
According to reports, the prime suspect, 27-year-old Aniekan Sunday Uko, had sent the victims, Chizaram Onuche and Chidinma Onuche, on an errand before luring them to an uncompleted building. There, he allegedly drugged them using an energy drink laced with sedatives, killed them, and harvested their body parts, collecting their blood in a bottle for ritual purposes.
Confirming the arrests, Rivers State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Grace Iringe-Koko, revealed that law enforcement operatives acted swiftly after receiving a report from the Rumuokoro Special Area Division.
“On March 23, 2025, our operatives arrested a native doctor along with three accomplices linked to this horrific crime,” Iringe-Koko stated.
Suspects Arrested:
Aniekan Sunday Uko (27): The alleged mastermind, who admitted to committing the crime for wealth rituals.
Luis John Uwelemele (19): Uko’s girlfriend, implicated in the murder.
Kingsley Opurum (43): The native doctor who allegedly ordered the ritual and provided instructions.
Friday Silas (47): Allegedly allowed Uko to use the uncompleted building where the killings occurred.
During the arrest, police recovered chilling evidence, including a blood-filled bottle, a kitchen knife used for the murders, an empty can of Black Bullet (the sedative-laced drink), and a spoon used to collect the victims’ blood.
The victims’ bodies have been deposited at the morgue for autopsy, while the Commissioner of Police, Olugbenga Adepoju, has vowed that justice will be served.
