Nnabuife, who made the announcement during Thursday’s plenary session, explained that her decision was prompted by her exclusion from YPP activities. She expressed that joining APGA would offer her a better platform to truly represent the needs and aspirations of her constituents.

The letter of defection, read by Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu in the absence of Speaker Tajudeen Abbas, confirmed her shift, with Nnabuife stating that the move was necessary to serve her people more effectively. “The exclusion from the activities of YPP and the need to embrace a better platform to represent the wishes of my people is the reason for this decision,” she wrote.
