In a fierce onslaught against insurgency, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has unleashed devastating airstrikes, obliterating terrorist hideouts and eliminating scores of fighters in Borno State.
According to an official statement released on Thursday by NAF’s Deputy Director of Public Relations and Information, Group Captain Kabiru Ali, the precision strikes targeted notorious terrorist enclaves at Warawara (near Wajiroko) and Chinene in the Mandara Mountains, delivering a crushing blow to insurgent operations in the region.
High-Precision Strikes Crush Terrorists’ Strongholds
The air raid followed Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) missions, which exposed a deadly terrorist scheme involving the stockpiling of weapons and the planting of Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) around Wajiroko.
“NAF fighter jets executed multiple waves of coordinated air interdiction (AI) missions on March 26, 2025,” the statement read.
-
The first wave of strikes hit terrorist logistics hubs, destroying gun trucks, ammunition stockpiles, and fuel reserves.
-
The second wave delivered sustained rocket and cannon fire, ensuring complete annihilation of enemy assets.
-
Later that day, another air raid pounded terrorist hideouts in Chinene, Mandara Mountains, where insurgents had regrouped after a previous NAF operation in Degbewa on March 16.
Terrorists Wiped Out, Hideouts Reduced to Rubble
Surveillance footage confirmed direct hits on terrorist shelters, setting their strongholds ablaze. As insurgents scrambled for safety, precision strikes neutralized fleeing fighters, further crippling their operational strength.
Group Captain Ali reported that Battle Damage Assessment (BDA) confirmed the elimination of multiple terrorists, four gun trucks, and two Toyota Hilux vehicles, along with several makeshift camps.
“These successful air raids underscore NAF’s unwavering resolve to dismantle terrorist networks, disrupt logistics, and deny insurgents any safe haven,” he stated.
NAF Ramps Up Pressure, Vows Relentless Attacks
With insurgents on the run, the Nigerian Air Force has pledged to maintain relentless pressure on terrorist elements across the region. As Operation Hadin Kai continues, the military remains committed to restoring peace and security across the nation.
